Substance Misuse Outreach Worker Gwynedd and Ynys Mon

Salary Point 20 to 21

£21,795.74 - £22,590.64 pro rata

17.5 hours per week

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Outreach worker who is able to work collaboratively with a multi-agency response team, supporting vulnerable individuals with complex needs including: mental health, substance misuse, homelessness, housing, etc and are not engaging with support services generally.

 

The aim will be to provide a holistic support service, taking this out to people in their communities across Gwynedd and Ynys Mon. This may include in the homes of individuals or in local hubs/drop in sites.

The post holder will be required to offer support that aims to address issues that may be impacting and contributing to an individual’s situation and complex lifestyle. This may include providing advice, support, information, or onward referral in relation to housing or homelessness, welfare benefits, mental health, substance misuse, education, training, or employment opportunities. Additionally, assistance may also be required in meeting service users’ basic needs e.g. access to food, shelter, clothing etc.      

Ideally applicants would be expected to:

  • Have an appropriate qualification/experience in housing/homelessness and of working with individuals with complex needs.

  • Have experience in delivering person centred support services 

  • Have a flexible approach to working hours including evenings and weekends where necessary 

  • The ability to drive and having access to a car is essential

  • The ability to communicate effectively through the medium of Welsh and English.

  • The successful candidate will require an enhanced DBS check that will be processed by Digartref Cyf
