Wendy Hughes, CEO
Working closely with Digartref’s board of trustees, I am proud to lead the charity in setting and meeting its strategic aims and objectives, in maintaining its strongly rooted values, and ensuring it meets the needs of those requiring our services, putting people at the centre of everything we do.

I have worked in the field of supported housing and homelessness since the early 1990’s, after leaving Bangor University having gained a BA degree in Sociology and Social Policy. During this time, I have gained a wide range of related experience, understanding, skills and knowledge, having previously worked for a large national charity and a North Wales based Housing Association.

I am fortunate to have lived on the beautiful Island of Anglesey for over 35 years having married someone who was born and raised locally. This has helped me appreciate and have a clearer understanding of the cultural and local needs of the community in which the charity operates.

I am extremely passionate about alleviating homelessness and working to assist those who experience or are threatened with homelessness. This is borne out in my career history where I have chosen to remain in a sector, which at its very heart makes great strives to address and reduce homelessness and its impact, at an individual, family and community level.
