1 x Support Worker – Anglesey.
Salary £19,440.47 to £20,886.32 (Pt 19 to 21) (37 hours per week)
Digartref Cyf is a homeless charity and is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced support worker for services based in Anglesey, providing temporary accommodation for young people aged 16 to 24 who have experienced or are at risk of homelessness. The overall aim is to support young people to acquire the skills necessary for independent living, assisting them to move on to permanent accommodation within the community, working with a range of external organisations.
A flexible approach to working is essential as for the first 12 to 18 months, the successful candidate will be required to work across two main sites based in Llangefni and Holyhead, following this period the main place of work will be based in Holyhead. In addition there is a requirement to work to a rota including; weekends, evenings and undertaking waking nights.
Ideally applicants would be expected to:
Have experience of working with vulnerable people and in particular those who have experienced homelessness or are at risk of becoming homeless
Have experience in delivering person centred support that promotes independence not dependence, doing with rather than for.
Have a flexible approach and be able to work unsociable hours
The ability to lone work during waking nights in particular
Have an appropriate qualification/experience in a similar role
The ability to drive and having access to a car is essential
The successful candidate will require an enhanced DBS check that will be processed by Digartref.
